If you like reading about sustainable living, we think the chances of you being involved in a sustainable or ethical enterprise yourself are probably higher than average. So, when we heard about Moral Fairground’s 2014 Ethical Enterprise Award being open for applications, we thought our readers may just benefit from this news.
Moral Fairground are looking for inspirational, ethical organisations that have achieved positive social and economic impact through ethical trade practises. The winner not only gets to bathe in the limelight and contend with a deluge of new opportunities – there’s also $10,000 and a spot at Australia’s largest fair trade festival up for grabs.
Last year the finalists were super varied and crazy impressive. They included Ashoil, an Indigenously-owned company who take the cooking oil that would otherwise be wasted and make it into a renewable fuel; The Social Studio – part café, part fashion label, all multi-cultural cool – where diversity and sustainability reign supreme; and the brand behind some of the best (and fairest) chocolate around, Alter Eco.
Think your organisation (or one that you know of) could sit happily among such a crowd? Check out the application guidelines and get on to it today! You have till the end of the month to get entries in. Good luck!
